# Request a Cheese

> Can't find a cheese in the library? Add it yourself in a few taps.

Tap **Request a Cheese** from the Library tab to add a cheese that isn't in the database yet.

## How It Works

* **Upload a photo** — take one or pick from your library and we'll pre-fill the name, creamery, country, milk type, pasteurization, rennet, and age for you. Review the fields before sending — we fill in what we can, not what we're sure of.
* **Fill in the rest** — only the cheese name is required. Creamery, pasteurization, rennet, age, country, milk type, and description are all optional.
* **Get an instant answer** — most requests are reviewed automatically the moment you submit, so you'll usually know right away whether it's approved, a duplicate, not recognizable as cheese, or needs a closer look.
* **Appeal a decision** — disagree with the call, even an approval? Tap **Appeal** on the result screen to email our team directly, with your request already referenced.
* **Track your requests** — see the status of everything you've submitted from your Profile under **My Requests**.

  Use the country filter on the [Cheese Library](/features/cheese-library) alongside [My Passport](/features/passport) to spot gaps before you request — someone else may have already added the cheese you're thinking of.
